Our overall policy on pricing is two fold: to keep it simple, and to not accept any money until you have seen the resulting images and are happy with them. If, for whatever reason, there is a disconnect between what you need and what we deliver, we'd be happy to try and address the problem, or have you find a different photographer with no hard feelings.
In terms of the pricing model, there is a "session fee" that covers all activity through taking the photos, then we charge per print or digital image download. We recommend a minimum amount spent on printing (which gets free shipping on the order), but it is not a requirement. The professional photo printing lab we use is local to Eagan and provides high quality images.
We also recognize that some people prefer to print images at their choice of printing service, or need the digital version for other reasons. As such, we allow the purchase of individual images to use as you see fit, or an option to buy all of the images.
Depending on the task, there may be additional expenses. For example, if travelling outside of Eagan, or for more extensive photo touch-up work (such as removing braces from teeth). We will ensure you are aware of all such costs before they are undertaken. Likewise, if you prefer a longer session, or spread over multiple days, we'd be happy to quote prices.
Our standard package has a $100 session fee for 1 hour. We typically take these at a local, Eagan, Park. Often the park at Schultze Beach as it offers a variety of backdrops. However, if you have an alternative preference, or would prefer a more urban scene, please let us know.
You may make as many clothing changes as you like within that time. We'd typically use 3 or 4 different backdrops and end up with 40-50 images to choose from. We post these on-line in a private album within a few days of the shoot with basic touch up, color correction and minor blemish (stray hairs, minor acne, etc) removal. Most people review these on-line, but we can print proofs for $2/image (minium 10). If more extensive touch-up is requested (removing braces, more extensive acne removal, etc) we can discuss pricing. Typically it would be $15/image.
Once any touch-up work is complete, print prices for different sizes are shown below. As is the cost for downloading individual and batches of images as high-resolution files for your own use. We provide the picture you choose as the senior book picture as a digital file ready for submission as part of this package. We can help with the actual submission as required.
For more time in the photo shoot, $175 gets 2 hours. This will typically yield around 100 images.
Summary: for around $200 you'd get a 1 hour photo shoot, the digital senior picture ready for submission, and a number of 8x10, 5x7 or wallet sized prints.
We typically shoot headshots inside against a white background, although we also take "environmental" head-shots outside that include a background as requested. In either case, the focus is on getting an upper body, or tighter head-shot that captures the character you want to portray: business, professional, fun, competent, etc.
Our standard package is a $50 session for 30 minutes which is typically enough to yield 10-15 images.
We provide the picture you choose for your main headshot as a digital file ready for uploading to LinkedIn, or whatever online purpose you need it for.
Some people prefer more time for the shoot, perhaps to allow an outfit change, so $100 will get an hour, typically yielding 25-30 images.
Summary: $50 is typically all you need to get a professional headshot.
The cost of photo retouching or restoration depends on the level of work required. A high-resolution scan of a print with minimal touch up to color and exposure is $5/image. Minor touch-up to remove dust spots or small scrathes is $10/image. More extensive color restoration, scratch (or damage) removal will be estimated and approved by you prior to starting any work. It would be unusual to be higher than $50/image.
The end result is always the return of your physical prints, plus a flash drive containing the hi-resolution images.
Note that retouching doesn't have to be old prints. We are happy to estimate any photo improvement or manipulation task starting from digital images - extracting people from one picture and incoporating into another, removing elements from one picture, generally improving a picture's quality to get it ready for printing, etc. Prices would be similar to above, and we'd discuss prior to undertaking any work.
Please call to discuss pricing for shooting sporting events, family gatherings, weddings, groups, etc. Our policy is the same as for senior pictures and headshots in that we charge a session fee to cover the time spent and then for prints as shown below.
|Print Size||Cost per print|
